REGULAR MEETING MINUTES - to be approved at the January 9, 2006 School Committee Meeting
December 12, 2005



Call to Order
A regular meeting of the Freeport School Committee was held on December 12, 2005 in the Freeport Town Hall Council Chambers. Chair Martin Robles called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M.

Roll Call
Present: Sean Crean, John Gleason, Chris Leighton, John Morang, Chris Munroe, Beth Parker and Martin Robles

Secretary’s Report
On a motion made by Mr. Morang, seconded by Mr. Crean

It was voted:
To approve the minutes of the November 28, 2005 Regular Meeting, December 5, 2005 Special Meeting and December 6, 2005 Special Meeting.
Approved: 7 – 0

Recognitions
-Nolan McKusick and Wade Schwanda were recognized for being two of the Top 50 Scorers on the Spring MEA’s

Special Reports
Cheryl White presented a report on All Day Kindergarten

Communications
1. None.
2. None.

Superintendent’s Report
Superintendent Tomaszewski reported on the following:
- Tom Edwards presented at a recent MPA conference.
- Five Freeport students were recognized at the MVR10 Student of the Quarter Recognition Breakfast.
- Alex Briasco-Brin was honored by the Maine Education Foundation as a Milken Award winner.
- Dr. Russell Quaglia of the Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations presented a talk for parents of K-5 students on November 30th.

New Business
1. On a motion made by Mr. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Morang

It was voted:
To establish the Goal Setting process for 2005-2006. Approved: 7 – 0

2. On a motion made by Mr. Leighton, seconded by Mr. Gleason

It was voted:
To appoint Mike Loughlin to the stipend position of Middle School Nordic Skiing Coach for the 2005-2006 School Year. Approved: 7 – 0
